Our Love Story
Judy and Ceas met at work during the COVID-19 pandemic, when everyone was working from home and most conversations happened on Microsoft Teams. They were assigned to the same fund, so they talked often — at first strictly about work. Over time, they noticed through social media that they shared many interests, from anime to music and other things they both enjoyed.

They first met in person during a coworker’s send-off, where they ended up talking the whole night and realized how easy it was to get along. After that, their conversations moved from Teams to Messenger, and they started talking more regularly.
On Christmas Eve 2021, Judy was the first to admit that she liked Ceas, and he responded by sharing the same feelings. From there, things slowly became more serious. They spent more time talking, getting to know each other, and building something that felt natural and unforced. They met again in January for their first official date at a cocktail bar to celebrate Ceas’ birthday. By May, after one very long night of talking that stretched past midnight, they realized they were already a couple — even if they still joke about whether they became official on the night of May 14 or the morning of May 15.

What started as work conversations turned into a friendship, then something deeper, and eventually into a partnership they’re grateful for every day.
The Proposal
On their second anniversary, Ceas and Judy booked tickets for a vacation to Balabac, Palawan. What began as a getaway for just the two of them soon turned into a shared adventure when a few close friends decided to join. Still, Ceas wanted their anniversary to remain intimate, so he secretly planned a separate celebration—a stay at their favorite hotel, Conrad Manila.

What Judy didn’t know was that Ceas had already spoken to both of their parents about his plan to propose. He had also shared his intentions with their close friends, Coleen and Tine. In the days leading up to their anniversary, Ceas kept reminding Judy to get a manicure. True to her nature—and suspicious of a prank—Judy stubbornly refused, not wanting to be told what to do.

On the evening of their anniversary, as they were getting ready for dinner, Ceas stood nervously in the bathroom, fully aware that he was only minutes away from asking the most important question of his life. Then, the doorbell rang.
When Judy opened the door, she was greeted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Smiling, she asked Ceas if there were more surprises. Instead of answering, Ceas revealed the ring. Tears were shed. Ceas was left completely speechless—and before he could even ask the question, Judy was already saying yes.

Because of Judy’s determination not to get her nails done, she couldn’t take proper photos of her hand with the ring—her nails were still marked with remnants of sand and salt from their beach trip days before. But in that moment, none of it mattered. They were so wrapped up in their private joy that they didn’t even think about having formal or perfectly posed photos. What they captured instead was something far more meaningful: a moment that was genuine, imperfect, and entirely theirs.
